New, I am.

Sorry for the Yoda-esque topic title, but it's 0030 and I can't think of anything better to put.

Anywho, I've been browsing UER a bit lately, and figured now was a good time to jump in and say "hello."

I live in San Antonio, TX. I'm pretty new to UE in the formal sense, but I have occasionally wandered into a few interesting places and done some looking around, and I spent a good portion of my childhood exploring ghost towns in southern CA with my aunt.

I'm a photographer, mostly for personal reasons, but I've done a bit of pro work. I'm an avid off-roader (though near San Antonio there's not many places to go so I haven't been in quite some time) so I bring to the group a Jeep for getting to hard to reach places in the middle of nowhere.

Anyway, I'm hoping to get more active in my exploring, and as I don't know anyone in the area that does UE I was hoping someone here wouldn't mind me tagging along.

Thanks!

Are you kidding me? When i drove to Georgia on the 10, i drove through like 278023790286282308230 miles of desert and dirt roads west of San Antonio.

Plenty of empty land, unfortunately it's pretty much all privately owned and ranchers don't take kindly to people driving around on their property. Off-roaders have a pretty bad rep as far as most are concerned, so a lot of us try as hard as possible to stick to legal areas.

Allva: I'd love to see a few places, I work nights so I'm always available during the day. Let me know next time you're heading to something local and wouldn't mind me coming along.

Welcome to UER. I haven't been to San Antonio in years so I don't know much about the town, it's grown so much. But I do know there are several explorers there who are top notch and would have some good advice for you I'm sure. I'd be really careful though about posting too much information about yourself in this part of the forum. I took your phone numbers out, just to be on the safe side.

Allva is top notch indeed. He knows all the spots. I live in Austin and find myself in San Antonio occasionally to do some exploring as well.
