Info on the clock that was in Prestonwood Town Center.
The mall has been demolished and was wondering what happened to it.

From a post at dallashistory.org which is an incredible source of information for those of you who have not ever used it. I remembered something about this when it happened but couldnt quite remember all the details.

There was a very brief catch-up side article in about the last 2 months in the DMN. I had been wondering the same thing myself.

In the mess of closing off all the retail activity and before the building tried to retrofit into a telecom 'hotel', the clock was dismantled. For some reason, part of the mechanism got separated and part went to where the Fishburn's bldg. was on Ross. I can't remember where the other portion went.

When the decision was made to demolish the Fishburn's bldg., no one knew or remembered the Prestonwood clock parts were there, and alas, we must get our Dallas tissues out ONCE AGAIN. The parts were scooped up with the rubble there. Wherever the other parts are, those are now 'orphaned' so to speak.

After all that clock went through (years and years in L.A., an earthquake, and then 20 years here...), it's really too bad and could have been avoided.

I know where the clock is - wanna see it?
I am in Dallas the clock is near Love Field if you to see I can arrange it - no problem.

In fact I am selling it at auction.

I would love to run down the complete history of this fine instrument.

Sounds like BS to me, no offense intended, but I had heard prior to what I posted that it wasnt salvaged for the most part already from the people who did the demo of the building. If what you is actually true I would be interested, or actually people I know would be interested in possibly bidding on it. Post some pics if you have some or drop me a PM
