There are plenty of vacancies at this hotel...

1. There she is...

2. The special entrance in the back of the Hotel...

3. The swimming pool. The parking garage used to be under the pool, but has long since been filled in...

4. What's that sign say?

5. The main lobby...

6. Safe boxes to keep all of your most prized possessions. Maybe you'd need one if you were the 3 stooges or Marilyn Monroe...

7. We sat down two drinks when we first got here. One was gone when we came back for them about an hour later...

8. The kitchen... grilled cheese anyone?

9.

10. The spa room. This is where you would go to get pampered if you had big bucks...

11. This reminds me of cartoons I watched when I was a kid. A fat cat or dog would get in one of these and when he got out his body would be really skinny...

12. This is a sauna. It had solid marble shelves for seats that were about 2 inches thick. Fancy!

13. There were stalls that I guess were used to give personal massages. (According to the old brochures I found online, anyway...) and these were on the outside of each stall door...

14. The doctor wasn't in...

15.

16. We went down the hall...

17. For the era this hotel was in operation, and the famous people who stayed here, we thought the rooms would be bigger and nicer. Most of them were just barely big enough to hold a twin sized bed. The master suites near the top of the building however, including the owner of the hotel's suite were huge. Some of them had 2 bathrooms and Mr. B's suite even had a fireplace.

18. unfortunately, there was some vandalism, but not as much as expected...

19. Here's your toilet shot...

20. How about a bubble bath in a purple bathtub?

21. The fireplace in the super master suite...

22. On the way to the 'cloud room'.

23. The 'cloud room'. This is where they had fancy balls and such...

24. The view from the cloud room was pretty amazing. I can only imagine what it was like to be a guest in its prime...

25. Another scenic shot...

There were more pictures taken of course, but these were my favorites and the best of the bunch.

The hotel also had an elevator that went straight to the owner's master suite and a secret staircase leading from his floor to his mistress' floor. (As the story goes, anyway...) There is so much history to this place, it was awesome to see this hotel in person.

We saw the entrance to the basement, but after the disappearing drink, we were sort of freaked out and decided to split. We didn't plan on actually going in when we got there... we were just going to look at the outside. I want to go back again and this time, I'll bring some balls with me.

We didn't miss it! Just haven't seen it yet. We have other business there anyway, so we'll get back down there.

Did you climb the stairs to the top of the hill? That is, if it's the place I think it is. (Am I not supposed to say? I'm such a n00b.)

If it is where I'm thinking, I wonder if you had a chance to visit the nearby state park. Follow the road to the left (towards the equestrian area) and you'll see a bunch of those abandoned bunker things from the former army base.

(I never get to explore anymore, but I still keep an eye out!)

He was insinuating that you couldn't see him, due to the camo pants... kinda like those camo shirts that say, 'Ha! Now you can't see me!' Hehe...

We did have roof access. We ventured out, but only about 10 yards. This is a small town with a good, responsive PD. (trust me and my childhood on this!) We didn't want to risk exposure, so we went back in. Great view!

What a ridiculously beautiful monolith! Believe me, I think I would have shuffled on down the road if things went missing as well! Still a helluva site... next time in make sure to get some macro shots; I'm sure there are minute details that you are breezing by in there.

There were tons of shots I missed out on, due poor quality of camera I was using. I will return when I get a good camera.
