Walked by there last night and saw that the side door (by the ramp) was totally open and took a peek inside. The past few days this place has been under lockdown and there was no way in. Apparently it seems as though someone has pried their way in, allowing others to experience it. Many of the rooms are still pretty well kept. The main floor is in rough shape but the upstairs is beautiful. I love all of the fireplaces in the rooms. The basement was too much for me to handle (I hate basements). I managed to find the ladder to the attic and then a stair case in the attic to the roof, where I sat for about 10 minutes watching the highway and the whole town of Whitby. Breathtaking!
I took pictures but until I find a scanner, I won't be able to show them.

The rooftop is a pretty good view of the highway except for one tree in the way.

I guess it's this "accessibility" that led to its eventual destruction today.

As of 2007 there is no way in. If you do get in there will be security waiting for you. Sad to say some one took alot of stuff from this house, there for having to bored and have a security guard take over this place. I'm hoping that they will help this place out by fixing the roof.

Drove by the other day to take a look. Nearly fell over when I saw it. It's in REALLY bad shape. I curse each and every one of the asshat vandals who did this to such an amazing old house.
