| | | Posted by J Peterman I dont get it? so you only had 5 Budweisers left?
| Three left. I drank the first...wait-a-minute: this is one of those two trains leave the station travelling in opposite directions blah blah blah sixty miles an hour/vs. ten miles an hour down hill etc. blah blah blah questions, isn't it? I drank two listening to the guy tell me his story, and I gave one to each of them, THEN I broke of the last one and that was it. And it wasn't Bud. It was New Castle Brown. I gave the last one to an old gal named Molly Mary McTweed. ...this still doesn't make sense. Forget it. [EDIT: BTW. nice pics, Peterman]

| | | Uh oh, a Newbie from the City of Tunnels and Gardens. I've been following this amazing thread for a while, tried 'infiltrating' ha ha, a while back but there were some teknikel glitches. I'll try to post some photos. Great respects to Peterman, Tanuki, and others who have been in the drains, tunnels, call em what you will. Can't help thinking it's just a matter of time until you get into the non drain tunnels which I also choose to believe exist. Peterman's Rock Bay Whorehouse escape tunnel, lol!, is kinda cool. I never knew it existed. Is anyone not aware of the maps posted in several locations that show all the parts of Bowker Creek that are covered, and those that are open? A UE friendly city or what? The one on top of Mnt. Tolmie, and the other opposite the Oak Bay fire department. As well, there is an entrance in that little park that takes Bowker Creek underground. Probably well known, true. The other day I was pokin about around the Johnson Street Bridge at low tide. Does anyone know what that square thing next to the drain pipe is? It appears to have an opening. Wasn't wearing my hip waders, so I didn't attempt going around the fence, which goes well into the ocean. An inspection and quick landing by kayak or small boat may be worthwhile. This is easily seen from the downtown North side of the bridge, from that new development. Binoculars from the other side may help. Also in the area, there is that older renovation just north of the steps leading down to the Boom Boom Room. Go into the courtyard type area, and looking back there is that tall vertical gated slot. There is an intriguing staircase on the right, which appears to go up underneath the sidewalk. Maybe there is some access off the stairs, I didn't look past the gate. On the left is an added wood wall with a locked door. This little alcove is quite cool, I didn't want to be to obvious, being in view of some of the offices. Maybe this is what someone posted a while ago about an entrance near Merlins? Saw a a late 50's photo of Bastion Square a while ago. It was a slight grade, so all those built up landings may well be hollow underneath. I was told from someone who runs a shop in Market Square, that there is a large space running under (up) Johnson Street, accessable by maintenance workers in the corner of Market Square. They said they looked in and it went a long way, and the "old sidewalk" is covered with plywood. Maybe this really is an old sidewalk, and Johnson Street was raised decades ago, being a ravine and all. More later, I want to see if this post and photos works.

| | | The grated part of the courtyard connects to stars which just go back up onto the street. They lock up all their bottles/cans behind there before they are taken away, so that they are not stolen by street-folk. One of my extended family members has been working at Wharfside (the restaraunt above the BoomBoomRoom) for years. large space running under (up) Johnson Street | Ive heard about at tunnel like thing that goes up Johnson, what it actually is are a line of extended store fronts that are all connected, Good work turning that up! I've been in them, They are technically connected. But instead of sharing a big strip of extended store basements, most of the current and previous store owners have put up plywood dividing walls between their property lines...out of privacy most likely. The cavity is pretty much littered with supplies, mops, and maintenance materials. In that terrible picture I took, you can see the plywood dividers in the distance. I'm pretty sure they are just put up with shotty wood nails and not very good frame work. Good work snoopin! Try crawling up that pipe at low tide
