Montreal Meet-up?

Hey all,

I started with Urbexing early last year when Covid hit going out on my own and such, but now that things are starting to lift up restrictions-wise. I'd be curious to meet some other members that live out in MTL. In terms of what places I have some in mind but I'd be curious to hear what other people think?

It may be interesting, but have you ever met or explored with other explorers before? Do you have any photos or videos of your explorations that you could share with us? Could we know a little more about you than the date you started exploring? For example, if you are an adult or not?

For places, personally, I always prefer to meet people in known places, but not too crowded precisely to get to know each other, because I do not bring anyone in places that I have been shared or that I have found. I recommend you to do the same.

Totally understandable.

The 2 Locations that I've hit up is the Dickson Incinerator (Which I'm pretty sure everybody has been to.) and this Church that I've been seeing around here that wasn't too far from me.

The Church I went to today and was really proud of how all my photos turned out. It was difficult to get in since it's quite close to a number of businesses.

I've been wanting to do more long exposure stuff since I have alot of handheld lights I can fit in my bag. Might go back to the incinerator for that since it's big main room is pretty dark.

I've brought some of my friends to the incinerator since it's easy and I know the place/schedules pretty in and out but I've just been looking to try and expand a bit and see how the montreal community is.

I know this church as well as the incinerator you are talking about. I did this church after everyone else here in early 2019 when there was still the presbytery. If it started to be vandalized at the time, it's crazy today how it evolved. If I took time to answer, it is because I was looking in my files to see if I had interior photos of the presbytery in 2019 or during my other visits and I realized that the only photos I have from inside the presbytery are cell phone photos, so I hope you won't blame me for taking age to answering you.

If you've found it difficult to infiltrate this place, I recommend that you do more exploration and be comfortable before meeting people. Since you're just starting out, if you want to find more abandoned places, just type that on the internet and you can compare by doing some research to find out if some places have been demolished before you go there. Exploring in the city is different from exploring out of town. You have to pay a lot more attention to what's going on around you! Stay safe.

I think this is the same room before the fire.

I totally understand what you were saying. Its crazy to see the development of these places. From the time that they were in use to just abandoned and then just taken over by Graffiti artists.

Its so fascinating to me the history of these places.

I don't know why, but for the past week, there have been a lot of people posting videos of their visit to this church on YouTube. Just type urbex Montreal and select this week on the search bar. You will found these videos.
