Exploring 17 story abandoned Old Long Beach City Hall < on 6/5/2021 5:47 AM > | Reply with Quote
Last weekend I explored all 17 floors of Long Beach’s old City Hall. A little background on the location: It was built in the early 1970s and opened along with a library (Demolished 2019) Courthouse(Demolished 2015) and police Building (Completely Remodeled 2019) in 1976. If anyone wants to explore this location please hit me up. They are starting the demolition process so Saturday and Sunday are the days to go. There’s only one entrance and it isn’t immediately obvious.
Entrance to what was the atrium/lobby
Old IBM Reel To Reel Magnetic Tape Computers Early 1970s
I was kinda high thought this was funny
Old Pepsi Can
East stair is the one to take goes from the sub-basement to the 2 roof levels the full 17 floors
The floors above 7 are mostly untouched
Former Land Surveyors office has large aerial maps of Long Beach Paramount and Los Alamitos on each wall
Should be common sense but don’t use the elevators
Old Mail Chute
IBM PS/2 Monitor it works, someone should rescue it it will definitely go into the landfill as workers make their way up to this floor, the computer mouse and keyboard are here too
Huge hole in the 14th floor
There was also a bunch of old Playboy Magazines, I took a picture but the girls are fully naked and I don’t know what this sites rules are on that.
Hit me up if you wanna explore this I wanna go back

Great explore! Glad you found something with so much history and got to document it.
Looks like there are some items that should be salvaged/saved.... but this is california where so much history gets tossed into the trash due to bureaucracy and "progress".
