Has anyone explored this site recently? I had some work in the area and drove by on a weekday. The fences have been toughened up but I still found a few poe's. There was scaffolding going up on the water tower and the main buildings look pretty gutted. Is this still worth it? Anybody want to PM me more info?

I've seen some recent shot of it. It's pretty f'd up. Not worth it for me, but may still be interesting if you've never been.

I thought this place was already being demolished... looks like I still have a chance to check it out!

Taken by me this week. Some activity around the water tower. Interiors seem pretty gutted.

I can’t believe this is still standing. Probably have to do a final trip.

Just wanted to give an update to this location. Most of the campus has been demolished and what's left is pretty stripped, but this place was a pretty cool explore with @WindsorSB Really wish we could have got to see the campus as a whole, but still glad to be apart of what was left of this historic site.

These photos above were from my recent explore here before the quarantine. All that remains is the main hospital building and a smaller building that I didn't go into, which I think is the church building. The hospital is pretty cool to see and explore, but it is pretty stripped as you can see above. Still worth a trip since the building has so much history and there is a lot of stuff to walk around and see. My highlight there was the surgical light, which was my first urban exploration surgical light to photograph. If you still wanted to explore it, you should get there soon. Not much more time before they demo it.

Thanks for the info! is the security there bad? I heard that it used to have patrol cars driving around the property.

There was just one security car when I was there, but he wasn't parked anywhere near the abandoned buildings. Wasn't a problem at all.

Went by a couple days ago.

Found the main attraction with no headrest, broken, and tagged up.

Oh well..

Yea the building complex is definitely just a shell now. There's honestly not much of a point in visiting anymore.

The only reason to go now is just to pop in and say you've been here before the eventually tear down the entire thing.

Although I do have to say romping around in the dark flooded basement was a bit of an adventure.

I'm quite proud of the basement photos. It was super dark in the basement and I didn't have a tripod on me. I basically just crouched and held my old dslr as steady as I could with my hands for each shot and they actually turned out pretty good.

Edit: fixed sideways photo

Really? Impressively steady hands, those turned out surprisingly good for long exposures without a tripod.

Using copy paste is an easy way to find your way back to the Wikipedia page you got this paragraph from.

lol, I was about to say the same thing. I just copied the last two sentences and found it first try.

Although I will admit, the history adds to the post and makes this location more interesting.

EDIT: ... And I just realized how old this thread actually is.

I got to go back to check out the basement. Wasn't able to due to lack of waterproof boots when I was there recently, but the flooded basement in your photos make it worth it for me to go back before they demo this place. Really like the morgue shot in #4.

Yea there's a lot less graffiti in the basement due to the flooding. The water makes for good reflection shots if you bring a tripod.
We didn't have waterproof shoes but we decide to just send it anyway and go down there lol. Luckily the water wasn't terribly deep so we just got our shoes wet.
