| | | Greetings, for the longest time I've been to lazy to actually post on a thread so here i am now. I've been exploring for about 2 years now and i am well assured that i deeply enjoy this 'hobby,' From gearing up and sneaking my way through guards to climbing 50 foot ladders to exploring the depths of a concrete jungle of drains. I love Urbex because of my thriving curiosity, photography, adrenaline, spirit of certain landmarks, the history and the aesthetic of decaying structures... I live in Colorado and I explore with a "squad," we're called "russquaad" feel free to check us out on instagram that is were we post our photographs. I absolutely love wearing gear.. i wear a NIOSH p100 respirator mask, full camo, carry a steel crow bar, big green sturdy backpack, binoculars, safety glasses, flashlight, boots, gloves, water bottles and usually a map of wear i'll be exploring. This lets us do our thing with no interruptions... At the end of the day i find more questions than answers to most places i explore which reinforces my curiosity... yet the dark side of things I've seen lurks within my dreams. I love planning every move i make with the gang so we are not met with any issues. Also its enjoyable for me because it hypes me up! Over the past year of being a solid squad we have encounter some very ghostly sighting some of which are for other story's. Over all were a very passionate group about the things we do and how we do them, we love having fun taking pictures, being stealthy, driving to distant places in search of the unknown all at the same growing in the way we truly are which is friendship. And therein, as the bard would tell us, lies the rub.

Why rusquaad? Are you Russian? Also, crowbars are considered tools for breaking and entering, typically frowned upon here on UER. We gain access through social engineering or reverse engineering, not breaking, cutting or lock picking, etc. So be careful with that approach, and know it’s not exactly the UER way (and should you get caught, having a crowbar is likely to get you in more trouble than it’s worth). There is value in saying “search me, I’m clean”, something you cannot if you’re packing steel.

| | | Greetings, my fellow Earthlings. I didn't really want to post in this thread because it's sooooooooo freakin long, but oh well. I'm vain. I'm 28 and living in Oregon - this is the 4th state I've lived in. I grew up in Colorado, where I got started urbexing way before I knew it was called that. I didn't get seriously hooked until I moved to Portland and got my first decent (okay it was crappy, whatever) camera. I love photography, but I stay humble about it because I'm not exactly willing to pay much for equipment. I don't normally edit photos - if they suck, they suck, but I love looking at memories. My favorite explores are industrial sites. I like poking through trash (dumpsters are great, so are squats) and critiquing graffiti. I've never been rooftopping, and it doesn't have much of an appeal - draining does, minimally, but I've yet to set out just to hit pipes/catacombs/whathaveyous. I vacation in the Southwest sometimes, and love the old mining towns, but prefer the ones where BLM isn't maintaining. I enjoy decay and watching nature reclaim our discarded buildings. I also like birding, so catch me in that sewage lagoon! (That's a birding joke about being willing to trespass into nasty places for rare finds.) Here's a silly scrub jay that I shot from my old neighborhood bando prior to its demolition: 1.
