| | | Went to check out what used to be a cool Mini Golf / Go Kart / Laser Tag place here after neglecting to check it out last summer. Found a concrete pad and everything demolished and mainly cleaned up. Some scrap metal on the site, broken bottles and a sleeping bag or two. When I parked in my car across the street (Sunday night, industrial/commercial area, super quiet) the 5-0 drive by slowly, looking at me. They proceed to drive a leisurely circle in a nearby parking lot, turn onto the road and immediately into the adjacent parking lot, doing an excruciatingly slow three-pointer. I pretended to be on my phone as I eventually watched them drive out of sight. I got out and wandered around taking photos until a man rode up on his bike - He had a beard, he was wearing jeans and a black hoodie with the hood down behind him, his voice slurred. "Who are you?" he asked, like if I said a name he knew, he'd be like "oh hey". But he also sounded like he couldn't see me clearly to begin with. He asked what I was doing, I said just looking, and asked him the same. "I came here to get high.." he said. Alright, that's fair. He sat down and started dealing with a syringe and a dime bag before asking if I had a cigarette. "I don't smoke, sorry.." I replied. He proceeded to get up, look around, presumably for a cigarette, and then get on his bike and leave. While he was sitting I contemplated asking his name and/or taking his photo with permission, but he left before I really got a chance, so all I have is photo #9. | Demo'd within 12 months of closing. Wouldn't be surprised if there are some environmental/reclamation issues - the kart shop was a mess.
