Microwave Tower Locations?

So I was looking around on Wired when I came across this article: http://www.wired.c...ing-the-long-lines . It is a small showcase of some pictures from Spencer Harding's book containing pictures from a trip that he took to locate some of the hundreds of abandoned Microwave towers that are scattered across the US. Now, he looked mainly in the West coast as the article describes, but being from New England it's kind of hard to get out and see the ones mentioned. So, leading to my main point, I was wondering if any of you possibly know the locations of some of these towers around New England. Any help is greatly appreciated

Typically it is frowned upon on these forums to ask for locations.

But anyways, that's pretty interesting, I would love to find one of those, but the chances of stumbling upon one are next to nothing.

The vast majority of them are not abandoned. They are owned by companies like American Tower and, as the article states, have been fitted with cellular data systems. Sometimes the Hogg antennas are removed, but often they are not due to their size and location.

This site is an excellent source of information and shows most of the tower locations (though they're not too up-to-date)...

AT&T Long Line Towers are the most distinctly recognizable microwave towers which are often abandoned. Google that.

Definitely be careful though. You don't want to find yourself on a microwave tower that's still turned on! It will cook you. If you really have the technical knowledge to understand the information, the FCC database of antennas is a great resource:

But for exploring purposes, the information on that site can be somewhat difficult to decipher. This is a huge topic, and there is a lot to learn about it. Do your research before trying anything!
