Hi everyone! Thanks to everyone who applied, it was really hard to break it down to just the top six people, but I am pretty happy with our choices.
A bit of information on each one!
ArcherArcher's life took a turn when he found that innocent website 11 years ago that combined subway tunnels with tunnel running... Infiltration. It was only fitting that his first exploration was a tunnel run of his own, navigating the tunnels beneath campus, and it's taken off from there over the past 10 years.
Archer may also have a problem referring to himself in the third person...
2xplorationsI've been an unrepentant explorer for as long as I can remember. Unfortunately I cant remember how long that was. But its a long time. Anyway I learned about UER about 10yrs ago from some local Texas explorers and realized there was a place for obsessive compulsive snoopers like myself to meet and share information. And even have a laugh or two.
I feel very fortunate to be a part of this team.
DJ CraigDJ Craig lives in Johnson City, TN, and he loves to explore whenever he gets the chance, above ground and below. His favorite locations are industrial sites. He has explored in 26 states, and 3 countries. When he's not exploring, he manages two businesses: DJ Craig Mobile DJ Services, where he works as a wedding DJ, and Johnson City Circus Arts, where he teaches classes in aerial silks and juggling.
AstroAstro is originally from Texas but has traveled all over the world, exploring the United States, China, Canada and Scandinavia. She is always looking for a new place to go and see, explore and learn, so don't be surprised if she ends up in an area near you one day! She always tries to make sure she says hello to locals on every adventure and wants you to do the same when in her neck of the woods! Her favourite places to explore are drains, cranes and ships (go down, get high and get wet).
terapr0I'm a 28 year old engineering manager from Mississauga, Canada, who loves to explore just about everything. I've always been curious to know what goes on behind closed doors, and have been going where I shouldn't for as long as I can remember. Despite a lifelong curiosity with the world around me, it wasn't until 6 or 7 years ago that I discovered UER, began exploring more frequently and quickly developed an accompanying passion for photography. Since then I've gone on to explore everything from farmhouses to powerplants, and tower cranes to tailrace tunnels. I live for this stuff, and I can't picture myself ever not exploring, or whatever you want to call it.
Despite much of the drama, I've found the exploring community to be full of wonderful people, and I've met many great friends here. It's an honour and a privilege to join the UER moderation team and give something back to this community.
GaneshaGanesha has always been fascinated by urban decay and by places where he shouldn’t go. He carried out his first explore at age 8 in the coal cellar of his neighborhood fire station. He didn’t know there was such a thing as UE. He wasn’t particularly a trespasser; but there wasn’t a closed door whose knob he didn’t try. Meanwhile, he graduated from the University of Washington, got married, got a job in IT and raised two girls. Eventually he realized that volunteer work was more fun than IT and retired.
One day he stumbled onto UER while googling for images of urban decay. On the rookie forum he declared he would never wear a respirator. A month later he’d shaved off his beard to wear a respirator. On UER he’s been documenting explores in forums and the LDB with an emphasis on publicly-accessible sites. Ganesha also likes photography, wilderness sports and technical writing.
Make sure to give them a welcoming hello and not be too upset if they have to delete a post you made.
