Caves?

It's pretty rural where I live so there isn't much in the way of urban areas to explore. I get a lot of my exploration needs from private caves. There's still the rush of going where you aren't supposed to be since you have to sneak onto private property (rush multiplied by the fact that where I live everyone has guns and shooting trespassers isn't uncommon).

Onto my point: I haven't seen any cave exploring posts. Are they relevant to these forums?

A few members come to mind when you bring up caves/mines/etc.

person who told me everything isnt around these days. Over all, I'd say i like old mine shafts just as much as any house. They are relevant, but not many people seem to be up to it recently

I like caves and caverns. Mines are rad too. My very first explores were some extensive cave systems. That was when i was a wee lad, though.

Therrin was the guy to talk to about mines and such, but he was unfortunately banned due to some whiney kids.

I'm primarily a mine explorer. My pictures and accompanying have always been welcomed here. Although it is a UE site, it seems like the majority welcome most any form of adventure exploring. It's been a lot of years since I've been in a wild cave. Post up some photos if you have them!

P.S. - I chatted on the phone with Therrin the other evening for close to an hour. He seems to be doing well and staying busy with various adventures. A certain female in his life seems to have done a world of good for him.

By definition caving isnt urban exploring but mine exploration is. Caving is an entirely different discipline with its own history and a lot of parallels. I wouldnt chase anyone away for posting cave pics unless we're talking tourist attractions.

That's good to hear. I wish he'd post more stuff on his Youtube channel. Almost had me convinced he stopped exploring since it hasn't been updated for so long.

No problem! Ironic that this thread is caving and he's just joined a grotto where he's living. He's got the rope skills that will let him do some serious cave exploring.

If you want to protect the locations you love to explore, don't talk about them online in public!
If you want to make exploring friends, send people private messages! Meet up in real life! Get off the internet!
Don't try to have a UER e-penis! You won't impress anyone! This especially means you, Minneapolis MN newbies!

I have had an interest in caves since I was about 5 years old, but my first explore wasn't a cave. Still my favourite though.

If you ever visit Pretoria, South Africa, you can explore a cave and one of the 4 forts that was used during the Anglo-Boer war. Just google Wonderboom Nature Reserve. The cave isn't mentioned, but you will be able to find that on other blogs.

Not exactly a cave, but I recently got to explore a cave/mineshaft couple hours away from me that is supposedly unknown to most people. It was not very large but still damn cool to check out. There were even rumors of another cave/mine nearby that area.

Caves can be so much fun to explore! But you have to remember the stuff that is living there at the same time, be safe, but have fun!!
