And I dont really see why you would need a mask for bird pewps, it didn't really have a smell... compaired to some of the places Ive been.... and by " extension" doyou mean the old "extension" that was almost 3 blocks long? :p

It wasn't the smell of bird droppings I was concerned with, it was the smell of dank, damp, mildewey air. And where there's mildew, there's mold.

Not to mention the building is old enough to have been painted with lead-paint. I'm not sure of the building's insulation situation, but whether it's cancer-causing Asbestos or lung-bleeding fiber glass, neither is a desirable outcome.

I take quality-of-air very seriously, so indoor areas almost always involve a mask for me. Poop smell is the least of my worries. But even with regards to bird poop (or possibly rat poop): http://www.uer.ca/...d=1&threadid=94981

Yeah, I don't know in situations just like this I've never let air quality stop me when the other bases are covered I'm very minimal when it comes to 'splorin, sadly on most of my real awesome super risky trips I've done with out cameras which I hate somuch Cause they usually get demo or closed up shortly after. ... alls I'm saying at some point got to take a risk unless you got like serious immune problems then maybe bubble boy it I also feel like lead paint exposure and asbestos won't hurt you if its for short periods and don't smoke prior you don't want to paralyze your Celia.

Came across this place while finding a way into Hunter's Point. No fences, just trees and bushes. Couple a people were racing motorbikes on the old tracks. Bad timing, bad lighting, and bad weather. Need to visit it again.

The Martians defeat humanity only to die of bacterial infections. Only as a microbiologist I do have to point out what was depicted in the film were actually paramecium protists and there really should be no reason for the Martians to get infected in the first place.

Nope. People didn't know what caused the common cold until the 1950s when the rhinovirus was discovered (in fact viruses were not discovered until 1898, the same year HG Wells published War of the Worlds). Until then people just knew that cold weather caused the common cold.

Oh God I am nerding out.

After making sure you don't break anything or cut yourself, I'd say keep your lungs healthy. You're stuck with those things a long time. I agree most lead and asbestos is pretty inert (and generally bird poop bacteria don't do too much) but mold or some other allergen or toxin-filled dust does suck. Keep a mask handy, (they don't cost too much) and use discretion.

Maybe the aliens were fond of skinny-dipping in freshwater ponds in their off-hours and had their tissues were light-emitting (internally, of course) in the red and blue spectra? ;)

Just a heads up...I went here yesterday, and the PG&E building has a new POE. <Edited> It is definitely worth going inside, but I failed to bring a mask as I was not even aware of the PG&E building before I drove by it. Whatever was in there definitely gave me a headache... I will probably be posting photos later.

Also, I apologize if I have somehow broken a rule by giving too much information away. Please let me know if I have.

Can anyone direct me to the other forum? I was searching for "Schlage lock", as stated previously in this forum, and I have failed to turn up any results.

There is some confusion here. There is an ACTIVE PG&E building on Geneva. Schlage lock is on Bayshore. 2 different spots entirely. So technically by giving POE info on the "PG&E" building you didn't really break any rules at all! LOL we call that that Kansas City Shuffle

The question is not when are we gonna stop, It's who's gonna stop us?

Chances are likely you wont be able to get into schlage they have it locked up super tight probably some of the best boarding up I've ever seen. But I'm not surprised after every time they locked it up the next night some kids were on the roof painting so I think they got fed up with it. But whose to say they havent already gotten back into there, its been a few weeks. And I'm not sure maybe I have the PG&E building mixed up with another one did you mean the one surrounded by the forest graveyard?

I meant the building that is viewable from the Bayshore roundhouse. It might be boarded up again though because I went there on Saturday.

I am standing in front of the PG&E Building on GENEVA screaming my head off RIGHT NOW! Can you hear me Jexta? When I am done here I am going to walk down to BAYSHORE then jump the fence and piss on the roundhouse. To finish off my evening I am going to walk down Bayshore and go spit on SCHLAGE LOCK.

Basically if Jexta finds your spit, then he will be at the building I am referring to.
