I'll be in New Orleans Feb 19th - if anyone is available to meet with me to hit this up - it'd be awesome - I'll be coming in via Megabus, so a ride would be a plus!

if the pics were taken in november of last year why is it not conceivable that it is now gone, nearly 3 months later? rinzler has actually been there - have you? sadly - i was planning a trip for next month (was supposed to meet up with rob.i.am this month but was unable to) so perhaps he can shed some light on this for us (assuming he was able to go)
either way...saying rinz is full of shit because you saw a photo "taken" in november of the preceding year is...full of shit.

I might be in New Orleans in about a week, I'll take the time to check on its status when I'm there. I'll report back with some details.

heres an interesting thing. the original Jazzland owners are trying to rebuild the park. and have been commenting on whatever media they can find. on a recent news article I found they had this to say:

The park was still there on 1/13/13, though the city is doing some kind of construction or oil stuff in the back. Saw a line of pickups full of workers driving in that all went around to the back somewhere, so be aware that there may be workers on the site.

Better hurry, if what I read is true, they're moving forward with the plans to turn it into that outlet mall. I assume Isaac will hamper those plans though.

I lived down there during the summer, and went several dozen times after the movie was filmed. I really doubt they will do anything soon with it, if you lived in Nola you would understand why. The Six Flags itself was built on a swamp and the rides and structures on the grounds cost more in maintenance and repairs than any Six Flags in the US due the ground being unstable. There is talk of building a Mall but the finances needed it to build it would be astronomical. In my opinion, you have got some time to hit it up, but I could be wrong ;)

Hey, I am new to this forum but I have been exploring for a while now in the Southeast Louisiana area. Some friends explored Six Flags fully a few nights before about 2-3 years ago. We left our mark at the top of the skycoaster towers ( big white things). We counted 122 latter steps and number 69 is all nice and cool looking for the fun of it. We signed our names up there also. I am just hoping the weather didn't erase them. The view from up there is amazing and I would totally suggest climbing up there...If you got the balls ;)

Also watch out for wild boar around the area, those bastards will mess you up.

If anyone ever wants to explore just let me know.

Yeah, I was thinking it would make a wonderful 360 degree shootout from way up there.
