Six Flags New Orleans is located in the Ninth Ward off Interstate I-510 in eastern New Orleans. Originally named Jazzland, the park closed in 2005 after Hurricane Katrina damaged it and never opened again.

AWESOME SET!

When I say I'm 'clean and sober', it means I've showered and I'm headed to the liquor store.

Aye, panorama is good.

Fatwax, lets take a field trip there.

Also, how long ago was this set taken? I didn't see the Big Easy while I was there, I was under the impression it had been taken down.

Thanks guys.

Astro, I visited here last summer in 2011. I'm under the impression that Fox made some serious changes to the park this summer when they filmed a movie there.

I was in New Orleans this week for the landfall of Isaac, we thought about going to the park and filming some video during some of the storm but just never made it there. Except for downtown, the power was out in the entire city so I couldn't even see the park from the interstate when we went by.

Better hurry, if what I read is true, they're moving forward with the plans to turn it into that outlet mall. I assume Isaac will hamper those plans though.

Was there a lot of water with Isaac?

Not in New Orleans, the levees held, but it did come close. I was standing on the south bank levee of Pontchartrain and it was about a foot away from overtopping and flooding Kenner. I-10 is completely submerged under Pontchartrain outside of Kenner and it will be for a couple weeks I assume. And power is probably out still.

But yeah, outside of New Orleans, southeast Louisiana is one giant lake. You can see some of my pictures here: https://www.facebo...ype=3&l=394ce3c5df

My camera crapped out from getting water in it, so I wasn't able to get any pictures of the flooding.

**Edit**

I guess the water recedes quickly there. I-10 is re-open but only partial lanes because some of it is still under water.

If you're going to go, I'd make it now.

I was there while they were filming the Percy Jackson movie. From what I saw it looked exactly the same, except a lot of buildings had caution/police tape on them and warned of the dangers. They did get the Ferris wheel working and the place was all lit up at night.
