climbing a bridge legal advice

what are the penalties for climbing a bridge? i know i can physically/mentally do this and as soon as i get my go pro you guys will get to come with me. anyway im wondering what will happen? its a very popular bridge and im pretty sure doing it will cause a big stink. i will take 1 trillion misdemeanors but just 1 felony would be devastating to me. im feeling like they will probably close the bridge off, get choppers out, get every cop in louisville etc. would that be a felony? you can legally walk across the bridge and there are no signs or anything saying dont climb it. i want to walk across the top is all. not really looking for advice is its a good idea or not - i know its not a good idea. im just wondering if anyone knows what would happen legally?

It probably depends on how the bridge is classified.

you mean like if its privately owned or owned by the government?
ive been googling and cant really find anything on who owns it.
either way i feel like if you are allowed to be there and allowed to cross it, the penalty for climbing it cant be too bad could it?

More like if its a historic building or not. For historic buildings, you are already damage them by touching them.

Besides this, the rescue cost would be the ones that would scare me.
In case they get some recuse going you might get a bill that is way higher than the court cost you might have.

I believe you already pay a couple of 100 bucks for a ladder truck only when they turn on their motor.
Lets get a helicopter involved and you have a nice bill together.

So in case you want to get on a bridge, you might want to make sure that they don't call PD with the words "we have a jumper"

After all some things don't have to be pointed out with a sign to know they are not allowed. Like you are not allowed to drive on the sidewalk with your car. I know there is no sign telling you this, it's just common sense.
Same for a bridge, you are allowed to use to cross over something, not to climb on it. There are some bridges that are excluded, but you would know these bridges. And I am sure the one you want to climb is not one of them.

Keep in mind that there is a basic legal concept that says,"Ignorance of the law is no defense". In other words claiming,"I didn't know it is against the law" will not stand up in court. Depending on the infraction a cop might let you go with a warning but it won't stand up once you are arrested. I am not trying to talk you out of it,just trying to make certain you are aware.
