Lens focal lengths?

Hey all, I was wondering what lens focal lengths you think are best to use while shooting inside of buildings? I haven't explored many any buildings for over a year and a half, and back when I was, all I had was a $100 generic 18-200mm lens. Well I am starting to get back into exploring abandoned buildings as much as I have been exploring drains. I have 5 prime lenses, a Nikkor 16mm 2.8 - Nikkor 24mm 2.8 - Nikkor 35mm 2.0 - Nikkor 50mm 1.8 - Nikkor 105mm 2.5. Now these are all old manual focus lenses that came with my Nikon F3, and I am shooting with them on my D7000, so there is also the crop factor to add in. Which ones do you think I should pack with me when exploring abandoned buildings to get the most out of my pictures?
Thanks for any feedback,
Micah

A lot of people tend to bring wide angle lens, which help to grasp a lot of interior details (shorter focal length). This some times also aids in creating converging lines, especially great for interior shots.

Typically, I would shoot a specific subject with a long lens at a perpendicular angle (e.g. a peeling plastic switch on a peeling paint wall).

Drains + wide angle/fisheye = meaning of life. They kick ass in abandonments, too, but they do amazingly funky things in drains. With a crop sensor, that's like an 8-16.

**EDIT**

Read that wrong. Prime lenses are great, but kinda tricky to use on a crop sensor in confined spaces like abandonments and drains, where zooming with your feet may not be an option, although that 16 is probably ok.

Oh I know a thing or two about fisheye lenses in drains ;)

It's the abandonments I am lost on.

Over MAMUIV all I had was a 50mm and then Axle let me borrow his 35mm. I shoot with a D90 so i deal with crop factor. Typically I use my 18-105mm and it works very well. As for your primes, 16mm will probably be your best bet but i really liked the speed on the 35mm.

So yeah, typically the wider lenses are used for abandoned buildings.

So would you have preferred slightly wider, like his 24mm? Since he wants to trim his load, maybe the wide, 16, 24, and 100? Sounds versatile.

Wide angle to get it all in + longer lens for shallow DOF shots.

I'm pretty new to this, but as for photography in general I use a 24mm a 50mm and then whatever zoom lens feels right for the day. For abandoned buildings I would choose the 24mm for cool interior shots but take the 50mm workhorse just in case

I definitely lean towards wide angle. Rectilinear if you can afford it. I used a Sigma 17-70 mm for years and I loved it. But frequently wished I had something wider.

Sometimes zoom lenses can really come in handy for exploring as makeshift binoculars...but that's about it...

I normally shoot with a 28-70mm 2.6 Tokina atx pro. It does great for most situations, but I would like a wider lens like a 11-16. I ordered a 8mm fish eye last week, but have not got it yet. I'm very sure I will use it quite a bit.

fisheye lenses are lame, rectilinear all the way

I recommend a wide angle for sure, I bought a Sigma 10-20 a few months back, and it's hardly come off my camera. They're a lot of fun to shoot with!
