Hey Everyone!

Im new to this site. I currently live in San Diego but was born and raised in upstate NY. After being "spoiled" by all the amazing places to explore in the Northeast, Im awfully disappointed with the lack of places here in So Cal. I find myself planning trips home just to go on adventures to photograph all that is abandoned and decaying. Which is what brought me to this site because ill be in the Northeast next week! =) You can check out some of my pictures on my Flickr site. http://www.flickr....otos/64978615@N07/
If your in the Upstate NY, MA, CT, RI, VT areas feel free to hit me up if you have any awesome suggestions of places I should visit. Thanks!
~Casey

Well hello everyone,

I'm not new to uer.ca but have been given a second chance by AV to come back and prove myself to uer.ca again. Well I'll re introduce myself once again. My name is N1Hawk. I'm 32 years old and I hail from Ajax, Ontario. I have been exploring for 5 years and love photography. I'm still learning how to use my Nikon D3000 and love to get out when I can. In my spare time I like to play ps3, golf and just go out and have a fun time.

If you want to know more please contact me

I'm Cooper. I have been taking pictures for three years, but only started taking Urban Exploration photos in the past six months. Due to the overwhelming amount of buildings (especially barns and other farm-related buildings) that have been left to decay in my area, I've been drawn to document them. They kinda grew on me, really. I'm more than familiar with my camera, I have entered some properties, and I have had permission to enter some properties, but have chosen not to yet, due to the snow.

However, snow is all gone, at least for now, and I hope to get started once again.

Hey everyone. I’m Switch. From tdot. Super excited to be here. I’ve been doing a bit of exploring for awhile but I didn’t realize there were other people like me! I started on digital but I’ve been shooting 35mm film for the past few years ‘cause I’m trying to learn the craft of photography. I can’t wait to start meeting everybody and going on missions.

Hello everyone! My name is Red, and I am quite new to both uer and urban exploring, though I've entertained a fascination with the pastime for a while now.

I hail from the Pacific Southwest (San Francisco to be exact), and am looking forward to getting out there and checking out some neat places in the near future, after my foot heals.

I hope to have some fun stuff in the not so distant future to share here, and cannot wait to read more stories about everyone else's experiences!

Thanks for having me!

Hey, My name is Ian. I'm currently active duty in the navy. I got into UE when a friend had Access All Areas on his bookshelf, and I picked it up glanced it over, thought to myself "Hey, I kind of already do this! Someone wrote a book about it? Wait. MORE people do this?! Rad!" So I picked up a copy for myself and have taken it to heart. I am originally from Chicago but am in San Diego now. I look forward to hopefully meeting some good people here and going out with some of you.

Hey all!

I'm brand spanking new to the UER community, but not so new to exploring. I enjoy especially underground exploring either utility tunnels and drains around the Columbus, Ohio area. I also go caving a lot down in Kentucky and Virginia. I am not quite sure why the literal underground is so appealing to me but I also like to explore large industrial sites with a lot of vertical character. A also have a little bit of exposure to rope climbing.

I would really like to get involved in the central Ohio community and have some extensive, although novice, maps to hopefully add to an even larger collective.

I am really trying to get into photography and lighting techniques (I just bought an entry level DSLR). If you want a late night explorin' buddy and are not afraid to get down and dirty, hit me up!

Here are some of the pictures I took with my phone (before I bought a camera)

I am a student researcher at DePaul University doing a study of online communities, and am interested in this site. It would be very helpful to my research to learn about your experiences as a participant. Would anyone be willing to participate in a short interview? For more information please visit this website: http://facsrv.cs.d...nitiesResearch.htm

If there is another place more appropriate that I could post this it would really help me out.

Hi! My name is Rhea. I'm eighteen, living somewhere in Utah, and am relatively new to Urban Exploration. I've had a certain interest in it for a few years, now. Before I went on an enlightening trip to Israel, I would have never thought that I'd find beauty in the abandoned.

Our school was traveling as a class to the beautiful country (and this was when I was in tenth grade), and a friend and I were eager to take advantage of the fact that we were somewhere we'd never be again. His stupidity and my curiosity led us to first creeping into a somewhat abandoned underground car park with what appeared to be bomb-shelter like rooms off to the sides. One of these had filing cabinets filled with photos that were somewhat dated. They must have been from the seventies or eighties. But we were soon to leave.

It was when arrived at our Hostel by the Red Sea that we saw what took our breath away. Right next door was an abandoned hotel that had been burned down in parts! So, being the reckless children we were, a few of the guys and I decided to go in. This was our last night in the city, so we only had this chance to do it. We crept in by crawling over a fence (because there was a huge open way in, like an entire wall that had come down in the lobby, but it was right in view of the public, so we were hesitant) and crossing by the swimming pool. No pictures were taken, but we saw some amazing things. We went into a large atrium sort of place and found chairs all strung up from the rafters of the place. It horrified us. And from where we were, we could see rows of hotel rooms going up four or five floors, and on the third floor, a light was on. So, panicked by the light and the ghostly sight of the chairs, our group bolted out. But my curiosity drew me back twice more. When a girl asked about what we'd done and insisted on seeing it for herself, I brought her, and she took a few startled pictures. It had only been a few minutes since our first entrance, but by then the light was off on the third floor.

Not fulfilled, my silly friend and I decided to wake up especially early the next morning and spend the next chance we could wandering the abandonment. It was fantastic. The morning sun glinted on all the windows and bits of glass. A breeze blew through the entire thing, slamming room doors and rustling paper bags. The two of us went on all four floors, then onto the roof. The elevators were all crushed from the bottom and top, and each were stopped where they had been. It was clear, though, that at least one of them had fallen all the way to the bottom in the fire.

But now I'm rambling. What I saw that day was an eye opening experience, and I wish I could relive it again and again. I'd very much like to go back to Israel and do some more studying of that fascinating building. But even so, I haven't been able to get out much and explore, still being young. There is so much beauty in the destroyed places of the world, and I hope to use this site to get to know other people who see the wonders that abandonments have to offer, and to connect with those who enjoy exploring in my area.

Anyway, sorry for the long post. XD I'm a writer, so sometimes I end up going on drawls.

I do wanna show you guys more photos, but most of them were lost with my old laptop. I do have a few I edited and uploaded online, though. What do you think?
