"Echoes of Asbury"

heres the invite... It doesn't look so pretty all smushed up and small. If you have a chance, and are in the area, come check some of my photos from the last few years of Asbury Exploration.

Looks great. Hope it all goes well for you. If I was a few thousand miles nearer, I'd pop in!

Too bad I'm just seeing this now, I would have definately gone! The stories and pictures of Asbury park are great, and since I'm so close I'm sort of kicking myself for not having gone sooner - alas, I will correct this soon.

So I have 2 questions

One, is the boardwalk and surrounding area generally open to the public?? At first I pictured it like Seaside Heights in NJ (or any other boardwalk for that matter) just surrounded by a fence - in one pic the photographer shoots a street with cars passing in front of a half built building that is completely open - no fences of blockades, seems too easy...

Secondly...off topic but related - how do people feel about profiting (or potentially profiting) off of UE through photography, books, movies, etc?? I'm asking in a strictly general sense - I don't mean to insinuate anything about anyone in particular, just thought this may be a good place to field the question!!
Thanks

As far as Asbury's accessability that has changed alot recently. It is much harder to access many of these buildings, especially since someone stole one of the big medusa medallions from the carousel part of casino. They have a full time security staff that patrols the boardwalk and have sealed casino up fairly well. As far as profiteering... If you are stealing stuff (like a giant medusa medallion) then you deserve a swift kick in the teeth... but photography and writing are all good. I don't see any argument being valid that negates ones own art.
