Anyone been to the mushroom plant north of Waco?

Hi,

I've been wanting to check this place out for a long time. So yesterday afternoon I decided to do a little recon work to see what I could see. Much to my dismay, the road to the place is now roped off with this warning sign up:

Well, I wasn't going any further due to the 108+ degree heat anyway but I'm not sure what would scare me more, the "seriff" or the "ratle sakees"... Perhaps I could bride them with a dictionary and get in...

Here's the plant from the road:

There are some houses nearby that look occupied so this one might be tough to get into to with some many eyes around.

At least the day wasn't a total loss, I got to see this truck accessory when I stopped for gas on the way home:

Has anyone been to the mushroom plant before? In doing some research it's not that old but it has been abandoned for close to 15 years. I'm not sure if there would be much to see in there or not, but it might be worth the effort to get in and take a closer look when the weather cools down some here...

probably a shit ton of mold is what you would find in there.
looks boring to me honestly -
but if that hillbilly is hellbent on keeping people out then maybe he has some golden spores in there ready for consumption...

I prefer to explore locations sans serifs. You can use arials to scout beforehand.

Look at the sperm snake!! How cute!

I have never heard of this place though. Insulinguy may be right though, if it was cleaned out before then it won't be too much. On second thought, with his great intelligence, the sign maker/owner may not have cleaned it out then it might be interesting to see if there are spores that are growing in whats left.

Oh that sign is pure gold. No wonder half the world thinks Texans are just a bunch of dumb shits with no teeth. Geeez.

But that said, that sign does give an indication of what you might be up against. When you are dealing with people on this intellectual level, you are often dealing with people who think no better than they write.

I'd guess one of 3 things here. You are either dealing with (1) someone idiot trying to protect his drug operation (meth lab, growing mushrooms, who knows) (2) the dumbass I referred to in the paragraph above who thinks he is Billy Bad-Ass and would think nothing of holding a gun to your head while he calls his cousin, the local cop to come arrest you or (3) just someone who is tired of all the annoying traffic in and out by his house while kids go back there all weekend to get laid.

If it's the third, you can probably safely pull it off. If it's the other two, who the hell knows.

That's our stereotype...

I was thinking some sort of drug operation. I would stay away at risk of the first two, not that the third would be something I wanna stumble upon.

Hey Price,

No competition, I'm just another explorer like yourself. I didn't know that there were that many 'shroom houses in Texas? This place would be a pretty good drive from Houston. Just saying...

There might not be much to see in there anyway, who knows?

Captain Slow can slip in under the cover of darkness, then channel the spirit of the Great Texas Longhorn Ed, to open the Texas Door and they will all fall through to the pits of hell.
