Six Flags New Orleans

I know, I know... people probably get sick of seeing this place because of the amount of photos circulating the internet. I love abandoned theme parks more than anything and to me this place is a gem. I visit Louisiana roughly once a year so when my bf & I went this year for his sisters wedding, it was made clear that we were passing through NoLa on the trip home. Sadly, my photos are lacking because of how we explored the park - and it was definitely a speed trip.

When we drove into the parking lot, we noticed a nice Jeep parked behind the ticket booths facing the parking lot... no idea what that was about because there were no people inside and I didn't see any people in the park. As soon as we were off of the park property and onto the back street - two police officers were slowly creeping up the road so it's a good thing we weren't on foot. Makes me wonder if the Jeep had any ties to the police occurrence.

With the broken monster thing and mermaid, I think I might of been the first (or one of the first) to capture those. I was picture searching right before I left town on 6/3 and the most recent ones I could find that were taken in May didn't have that damage. It was really stormy that weekend so it's possible that it was brand new damage. I was shocked to see that the mermaid had bit the dust. Another common photo is the Skycoaster ride with the freefall man - his chin was missing on my visit (don't know why I didn't capture that). His missing chin makes me wonder if it was indeed a storm or vandalism... who knows.

The watermark is distracting, other than that, pretty interesting to see the updates on the place.

Smaller watermark would be nice, for sure. But wow has that place gotten worse. I really enjoyed this set because it isn't the same group of photos I keep seeing of say, the clown head that has gradually been messed with and destroyed. I do wish you had taken pics of certain other rides, like Jokers Jukebox. (I understand you were rushing) But those really show what a shithole its going down into.

Yeah, I was also going to apologize in advance for that lol. With the amount of photos around - wanted to make sure mine were apart from the rest. Also was in a hurry, which is why it's a little large. I'll have to eventually remake them with it smaller. But thank you, glad they are enjoyed.

I didn't even get to visit the other side of the park, so that's why a lot is missing. I hope that next time I'm in that area I can stop back by and be able to actually walk around and take my time.

If you do plan on going again, hit me up first. I live about 5 hours from New Orleans and have yet to get my ass over there to see Jazzland since Katrina.

Let me be the first to say: your pictures need a larger watermark, and if possible, more pinker!

Most definitely. I'm like um, 12 hours away? haha. It'll probably be another year before I head back to Louisiana unless of course the holidays or something important comes up in the meantime. I'm not the least bit satisfied with my explore - I was ready to go back as soon as I left.

PS:

I think I got it right this time guys

I was there last March and took a set of photos, I can see some slight changes. Nice pictures, though. I heard the cops do patrol out there a lot more than when we went.

Funny- a friend of mine was just telling me today about this site and that I needed to head over there as they still had not done anything with it. Looks worth a trip! Thanks for sharing! And for choosing hot pink!
