Good bit of perfectly legal fun- took with a hike with StankWeeed through the Denton Bum tunnels/canals today. Enjoy the pics! Anyone can explore the canals, they're probably the safest UE you can do, it's public land and perfectly legal to walk through, just don't live down there. (asked a Denton PD officer).

Comfortable posting this since it's legal. Lemme know if I should take it down.

Started here

StankWeeed takes the lead

Found an awesome, ancient bridge made out of old car frames, StankWeeed enjoyed it immensely

Detail of the bridge, no idea what it was connecting to.

Captain_Slow and StankWeeed pissing about

Came about this small tunnel first, and low and behold, a very, VERY fresh bum camp

Someone was living here, there was unopened food tins, fresh food like pizza and donuts in kroger bags, ect

The dude even drove nails into the cement to hold clothes, bags, food, ect out of the water

Next we found this mother of a tunnel, with an active buisiness on top. I had no idea it was even here, and I grew up in Denton. Very, very f'ing cool.

Detail under the tunnel

Lo and behold, another bum camp. This guy was smart, using pipes to keep his stuff clean.

Some cool graffiti

This drain was weird. Kept constantly dumping very warm water that smelled very chlorinated, and looked like it went back for at least a half mile.

Rest of the trip was pretty mundane.

Took this on the trip back to the car. There was a very large tunnel not pictured because we met a group of 4 hobos in a hobo camp, chit chatted for a bit, they said they liked my tattoos, and they bid us luck on our quest for pictures and we kept on moving. Took this from the highland above the canal on the return trip because we got distracted by some cool old cars.

This guy was in the canals on the way back. Total basehead, smelled like ass, kept trying to hide from us under the bridge, and the poor guy was wearing flip flops in the drainage ditch.

We ride in style No really, me and SkankWeeed own a limo company Like the missing hubcap?

Canals are pretty cool. I use the ones here to kind of give my kids some experience exploring... while being in a safe environment. They have a blast with them.

Wow, very nice pics! What camera do you use? I'm in the market for a new one, destroyed my other one by accident...

I like the Denton Canal, most of it is very mundane but there are some bits that take some serious aerobics to stay dry, which is a fun challenge but if you slip the worst that will happen is you'll get wet feet. Nowhere, anywhere on the canal is more than 100 feet from a house or business, so even if you run into baseheads like we did, they know damn well that if they do ANYTHING to you except smell bad they're in huge trouble.

One of the bridges in the Denton canal is a train bridge where freight trains go through at 45-50mph MAYBE 4 feet above your head, we waited for a train to go over and jesus, it's an experience to remember for a lifetime.

For like forty to fifty bucks more you can get the Sigma 50mm f/1.4 EX DG HSM new on ebay, IMHO a much much better, albeit wider (77mm filter diameter) lens.

I am jealous that you can take your kids exploring with you. My woman would kill me... Maybe in a couple of years, and after I have found some safe easy spots.

I bet it was very interesting having a freight train roaring four feet over your heads.
