So i live right next to this place lol i know...kind sucks if theres like more stuff in the water. anyway this place was houstonurbex, unregistered, my gf,another friend and I's first location. we heard the stories. chemicals buried under the whole area. 2 chemical plants burning bad stuff cuase toxic gases in the air. 3 kids died. and everyone had to leave (stuff had to stay) so we ventured into the woods and empty streets. and then were in aww when we found buildings..in the woods! so crazy. we found like 10 baseball feilds, didnt find any remains of the elementary school, but did find lots of baseball shacks and a building. really cool place. found 2 (wahts left of) houses. and lots of shacks. the cool thing is its not on private ground. its just in the woods next to my house.1.

I was ran outta this place last year. And when I say ran, I RAN. Had a white truck spot me along the main ditch by the inside road that crosses the ditch.

Another place that has eluded me. How many streets are left? Which side were you on?

Nice place I love the bullet riddled wall and door. That cover over the drain looked interesting did you try to open it and have a peek inside?

We have been to both sides, never been to the middle part though because its just not worth it to be honest. only a few streets though from what I have seen but it still a fun trip.

The white truck was in reverse at this time to come back and try to follow me. Picture is cock eyed as I was about to haul ass at this point.

the fund site itself has only a main road all others are now dirt. the neighborhood above me (google maps) which is past the bridge. still has all the roads and drains and firehydrants etc. but in the woods is where all the good stuff is. weve been there about 4 times and had no problems. i think they gave up on catching ppl lol

Spectacular find! You can almost feel a chill in the air and feel the twigs snapping under your feet as you look at the pictures.

Yep. Right across from the San Jac college. I didn't know anything was in there either. I use to live in Clear Lake and had no clue Houston had their own "Love Canal".

I live in the middle of Pearland, over by Frost Bank Dude! (with Pearland traffic that is actually more like ten minutes... and i used to live in those ghetto ass townhomes right off of beamer called highland meadow village) gotta hook up some time and get you to show me where all of this stuff in the woods is...

I actually did some research on this place and the eleven others in Houston. This is what got me in to exploring in the first place!

Eleven other Superfunds, also known as, places that are so polluted that the EPA has to step in and use national government funds to do a "cover up" to un-taint the soil and water.

One in Almeda, where there is an abandoned apartment complex.

Bruce Elementary was sitting right next to one too. (Google Maps Search for Many Diversified Interests (MDI))

Sadly they are everywhere...

This first list is SCARY...
http://www.tceq.st.../sites/byname.html

This is fun too.
http://www.bizjour.../11/29/story5.html

I started research on these places because of BRIO, and Then I found MDI, which happened to have an elementary school nearby, and hence was my first exploration, Bruce Elementary. I wanted to go inside and find out if MDI was the reason that the school shut down.

The site at MDI was so polluted that the nearby off-site soil could kill a small child if it was ingested...
