I do not have one yet, I'm really just starting to get into urban exploration and have yet to get any suits, respirators and whatnot, do the monitors go out there like once a month or something?

Don is really advanced at moving slowly through a space to avoid sensorz. He has watched Sneakers many, many times.

Usually it is once a month, but the day changes month to month depending on their schedule. There are a surprisingly high number of toxic abandonments in MN they deal with.

you can get the suits at Axman's in St. Paul for like 20 dollars. They're kinda cheap though, we go through them pretty quickly, but if you're new to this, you don't want to invest a lot into your equipment all at once.

Maybe get two right away.

That's really good advice. Do you think he'll need a full-face respirator yet?

That's really interesting, I had no idea there were any sort of hazardous materials there, all I could find online was just sites that had like a brief history and some pdf files for the redevelopment that never happened.

Part of the reason redevelopment doesn't take off is because of the very high environmental cleanup costs.

full respirator... if he's going into this place, maybe. I'd get half-face P-100 right away though, just to be safe. You can also put on swimming goggles to protect your eyes.. they're cheaper, and with summer approaching they'll be on the shelves soon.

Presumably, he already has a pair of ski goggles around.

they might not be waterproof though-- if water can get in, toxic air can too. What I do to check is jump in my pool, but if you don't have one you can fill up your bathtub full of water, put the goggles on, and submerge your face, if you get wet, they're not waterproof It's cheap, but it works.

What about just using a snorkle with some cotton balls stuffed in the top?

i used a full-face respirator and wrapped myself up in black garbage bags and duct tape. much cheaper solution, and i didn't stick out like a sore thumb when walking out on the streets (like you would in that bright yellow HAZMAT suit).

leave the gun. take the cannoli.

actually, you may be right. It may be more economical to get a mask that is multi-fucntional, that way he can go in storm drains & sewers later with the snorkel and not get the poo in his mouth when he has to dive under pipes and stuff in the deep water.
