One of my fave times to go exploring (I'm in a rural setting, BTW) was during snowstorms. Great cover - nobody else out & about.

And don't be wussies - a little cold never hurt anyone.

Going to the store brb

watch out for ICE! its slippery, you'll find it inside and outside of abandonments! slipping on ice can lead to broken equipment/bones or worse slipping onto/into a hazard like: rusty metal/re-bar, glass, nails, holes, etc...!

They say "you can't judge a book by its cover!" I say "YES you can, if the cover has a girl on it with a cock in her mouth, its PORN!" if she's 18 and the cock is black, its GREAT porn!

Yeah, wasn't there a body in Detroit that was frozen into the ice at the bottom of an elevator shaft for a couple months? Sad.

dont forget the skin care beforehand and after.. may sound lame, but if you normally get your feet wet, and they crack, it can cause problems.. dead skin doesnt get much circulation... keep your feets healthy!

Reason why i wear winter socks and boots! And for my hands i never leave without gloves, atleast 2 pairs anyway. And always wear a hat! That will keep your body temp up.

along with a magnesium striker and some dryer lint (and know how to use them!) just in case you need to hunker down until dawn.

please explain.... dryer lint? should i line my pants with that? it is kind of similar to the homeless stuffing their clothing with newspaper??

true, true, true.. that is basically the only type of foot covering i wear, period. but sometimes, it still gets wet in there... (i need better boots for full-foot submergence anyhow.)

If you really wanted to, maybe you could. But that's not what he had in mind: dryer lint is highly flammable (even when slightly damp) but nonvolatile, and thusly makes an excellent fire starter.

Theyre like boots tho! Haha. Theyre actually work shoes, but they look like sneakers. They do everything a boot does.

Carry a lighter instead of a striker if you can keep that lighter dry. I store tinder in a zippy anyway. Otherwise, the striker will work wet, and the lighter will not.

i know what you mean about climbing.. i get an urge to climb (wimpy) things on a normal basis... of course trees, counters at work, random fences in cities, the stone wall by the game stop that leads to a mattress store... i can always use more practice though, you never know what youre going to get yourself into that you may have to climb your way out of..
and quickly.
without the rip of pants, if at all possible.

that sounds like a good idea though, meeting you guys again for an exploration. (forgot to mention it in my climbing recollection frenzy) i too am always up for an exploration. i would have liked to tonight, even a cemetery, but it was too damn cold!
by the way, you like to climb so much, where is the best place to climb that you (or anyone) have been? im serious about wanting to "practice" climbing fences, i want to be like a jungle cat, just in case i have a run in with the law... or violent scrappers, the apparent mortal enemy of the urban explorers...

Aye, +1.

Edit: Also, she gave me fruit rollups, and they were delicious.
