How are you "getting" into places?

If anyone could post up a link (I searched and do not know where to find info on this site) or info on how you are getting into some of these buildings. I honestly dont believe that they all have doors unlocked, or that they all have a window broken out or boarded up. I am curious as to how you are getting in without causing any dammage. I see alot of posting on "ninjaing" your way in but that is a little vague, I am new here and would like to be a little more direct as I honestly do not know.
thanks

Have you ever tried? Because 9/10 times this is how I get inside a building.

Here's a lockpick. It might be handy if you, the master of unlocking, take it with you.

No one is going to tell you how to get into a building. This is half of the fun of exploring them. Sometimes, entrances are tricky, sometimes they are easy. Sometimes you need to go to the site at 3am and make and entrance, carefully hide it, and then go back later to explore.

As I understand it, "Ninjaing" often refers to climbing or being flexible, or generally entering in the manner of a ninja (it's customary to assassinate a warlord once inside to complete the metaphor).

As far as entry, 9/10 it's either an open door, a climbable fence, or an accessible door. A lot of entry is just being able/willing to do what a lot of people won't- climb barbed wire, descend down rope, or even just open a door that says "Do not enter."

If you're inquiring about breaking and entering (B&E), be careful, you're likely to start a rude discussion.

Might be hard to believe, but most of the time if you take the time to look, there will be a way in. You have to keep in mind that for a lot of these buildings there is not upkeep whatsoever. So if someone breaks in, the entrance stays there.

Me and some friends made a dozen or so trips dedicated to just finding a way into a certain building. On the last one, someone happened to try a door that we probably walked past every time we went, and it was open... I still kick myself for that one.

ALWAYS try windows and doors. ALWAYS.

also, i'll share the patented don corleyone "open sez me" technique:

french doors (double doors) - sometimes one locks up and down and you can't do it, but many many many times they are only locked to each other. push or pull hard enough and they will open.

leave the gun. take the cannoli.

Hello, my name sis Kaleb I am from the Omaha nebraska/council bluffs Iowa area. I have always been fascinated with old structures. I have been doing this kind of thing on and off since I could drive pretty much. Whenever I have seen an old structure I have always kept them in the back of my mind as a place that I would like to explore. I am also a martial artist, I build/restore cars, and am going to school and majoring in guitar performance.

Not always - I know of locations that if you went in a certain way once that you'll never get in that way again.

being more helpful

yeh aside from the obvious trying doors and windows, check padlocks, a number of times i have come across one either not latched or placed incorrectly to render them useless - my favourite was on a place that looked like it had uber security except this one failure rendered all other measures useless.

If anyone could post up a link

There is no link to cover what you seek. Every location is different as is the POE (point of entry).

I will share with you my thoughts on sealed up places: I drove by an abandoned motel once (well, many motels but this one time in particular). It was all sealed up with fresh new wood and I felt like continuing on my way to the next destination. The gut instinct was that this place would not be accessible.

For whatever reason, I stopped and decided to have a look around. Sure enough, one window was unsealed and the window wide open. I hopped inside and had full access. The electricity was still running (and so was the alarm).

In my 10 years or so of doing this, it really does blow my mind that a place can be so well sealed up but there is that Achilles Heel that allows access. It's like someone goes through all this effort to seal something up and yet there is one simple way inside.

Why is this? My thoughts are that for every sealed up building that looks to be Fort Knox, there are also bored mischevious little kiddies with lots of time on their hands.

On the other hand, you will find some locations sealed up and no POE available. Since I do not break and enter, these are left alone and I may go back eventually to see if the 'kids' have opened it for me.

Exploring and photographing are fun. Criminal records for break and enter are not.

Edit: Further to the above, there was a restaurant here in Sudbury that I gave up on since it was secured and boarded up. A few other explorers from this site went back to find that access was available. I revisited it, and sure enough the kiddies had broken a window and access was there. I crawled through the window, broken glass bits all around. Inside I met some young teenage girls who hung out there. They told me they'd gotten in using the DOOR. If any access is available, leaving a door unlocked saves having to go through windows. Try them, they may just work!

Good luck!

Entrances are changing all of the time. You cant really post a link that says the entrances. One day a door will be open and then maybe a week later its back to being sealed. Now you'll have to find either another door or a window thats open. Or even climb onto a roof into a window or something. Thats where you learn how to explore. And the more you explore and find entrances, you'll get better at it and can get into more secure type places.
