| | | When I first saw the title of this thread I thought you were asking if anyone ever got sprayed by a skunk. Me, I just moved on to the next place to see if my luck improves. Like fishing, this is just a hobby to relax.
Posted by LauraL42 Hahaha, I have never heard 'skunked' before...

I'm surprised. This is a very old term usually applied to fishing or as I mentioned above, encounters with the striped kitties.

| | | Alright i'm also guilty of thinking the same thing, but the term "skunked" does have many meanings.

'Skunked' as it's used here is taken from here: http://en.wikipedi...le_%28card_game%29 The closest British translation would be 'Snookered'. Chris...
We all had ostriches. My dad had an ostrich farm! I remember one day someone came in and said the high altitude bombing of Kosovo had been a limited success, so we all went out and celebrated… by killing an ostrich and boiling it in kiwi fruit. |

| | | I was about to give advice on ridding the smell of being sprayed by a skunk and luckily I read the entire post before proceeding. Glad I wasn't the only one who hadn't heard of that term being used in that way. LOL

| | | last week, I went with some friends to a site I passed a few months ago and it looked really cool with around 5 building including a huge warehouse. But after the drive there we found out it was all torn down accept for a small gutted building. We went in any ways. It was still really entertaining just to walk around the ruins, it was kinda like a wasteland. Wee even found an old tunnel in a field and an old power sub station. So even if it looks disappointing still go and see what you can find or do.

Well, try having the aroma coming in through the vents and hanging on your clothes. Especially when you're on your way to work and you are taking the GO train.

| | | I read this thread thinking you got sprayed by a skunk. All my experience of living with stupid dogs was for naught. Keep trying. I have never failed to find a way in. Things change. Come back in a couple of months and scout it out again. Remember, you are the only one who can admit defeat.

| | | Just keep trying! Open gates are really quite wonderful and inviting, though. Even though there may be a lot of people around, if you are dressed appropriately (re: casual) you can usually just walk right in. Especially in the daytime. If you walk straight toward it, open it like you own it, and continue like you know where you're going, nobody is going to pay any attention to you. The worst thing that could happen in the event someone on-site does realize you're there and aren't supposed to be, you just say "Oh, sorry, the gate was open and we just thought we'd take a look. Always wondered what this place looked like inside!" And you either get asked to leave, charged a minor tresspassing fine, or in some cases, allowed to stay and look around.
