I don't like razor wire. Usually it's enough to keep you out until you find a way past or over it. Fences are no problem, especially chainlink. Barbed wire adds several seconds to the climb. But razor wire will snag on anything, and if well-maintained can cut you without much pull on the tips. Sometimes you get lucky and find some that isn't the good stuff, and is only pointy on the tips. Other times, it's sharp all over. Check near gates and corners to see if there's a place to put your feet to step over it.

cast a level 49 invincibility spell and wear a chain-mail cloak and then you should be able to climb over it.

leave the gun. take the cannoli.

I've come across looooads of it. And gotten past loads of it lol.

It's tricky, but it's too sexy and dangerous to be mad at. I fucking love razorwire.

there are ways around that shit. We shall discuss.

That's a lot of money to spend on something you may have to ditch if cops or someone shows up...

I mean..ethics say that is bad?

If you need a cutting tool, I'd recommend a pair of fencing pliers:

The little notch in the side is for cutting wire and just happens to cut chain link fence easily- I'd assume it'd do the same for razor wire. Can't say I've ever used it at a site, but I carry a pair for emergencies, as it constitutes a handful of useful tools in one light piece.

Be careful, not safe.

The n00b wanted advice. I gave advice.

I could also recommend bending/twisting/propping it up/shoving your friend thru first, but that just seems, y'know. Wrong.

Killing friends is bad. That's what homeless people are for.

They don't seem to have a problem trying to kill me. Game. On.

but bending, cutting, under, around. all work. over can be pulled off too. But that's a tricky little bit.

It's sort of like playing Twister. At some point, you will get caught up and fall and probably cut up a lot. And probably awkwardly end up entangled with someone else.

Most quantity of wire I've seen was at a jail (not surprisingly). Had 1 row of barbed wire, 1 row of razor wire, and 2 rows of concertina wire all in parallel.

At least they were organized. I once did a skyscraper in detroit that was just laced messily with the stuff over anywhere a hand could possibly grab. I don't even know how they got it there without cutting themselves and bleeding out in the alley. But alot of places in that city are like that, as I am sure you have noticed. But where are all the dead property owners? I'd like to know how they do it.

I've heard that an old rug thrown over razor wire is pretty effective at letting you climb it. Anyone have any experience with that?

haha that's for barbed wire, which is significantly less sharp. A rug might work for razor wire if it was a very very thick rug (I am resisting the urge to make jokes about peoples moms right now). If you don't have much experience with razor wire I really wouldn't recommend trying to throw anything over it.

"Concertina" describes the type of coiling, and most razor wire is concertina style... it's not a type of wire unto itself, unless you're referring simply to coiled wire with no spikes or proddy bits. Even then, it's just wire.

Grab some old carpet and try poking sharp things through it - they'll come eagerly through, still thirsty for blood. You'll want a lot of layers, and good razor wire might just cut through anyway. I haven't tried it because it's more pain to carry a roll of carpet than to climb. Let us know if you try it, though! I haven't run into concertina wire yet.
