Do you tamper with them at all after words, or does the sky always come out that nice?
They really look great. Always look for those complimentary colors baby.

The first one is a little too saturated, but otherwise these are really good.

I am a fan of them all. Nice work. DId you use a CPL or anything? Really like how the sky turned out.

I agree, and I'd add that the silos should be a bit darker. If the sun is coming from behind (as you can see by the shadows on the ground), it wouldn't be natural to see them as bright as that.

Also, watch out for the clipping (in the second pic especially). Always check your lcd screen to look for clipping (the d40 should have this option), check your histogram too.

The red in the second one is beautiful!

Cool pics!

haha thanks for all the comments! and idk how you guys are seeing the saturation, i didnt touch the saturation on any of these! in face i lowered the reds and yellows.

anyways i did use a cpol and the first one is an hdr. i blended the 5 images together then used the sky from one of the single exposures that i liked and spliced that in. i didnt like how the sky looked in the hdr versions (clouds moved so they were all streaky) so i put in the sky from another pic.

the other two were shot with a regular sony cpol.

thanks for the feedback!

Very nice colours. I myself also shoot a D40, I love that camera. Your first shot has almost an HDRish look to it. Cool!

thanks guys, the first one is an hdr shot, then i blended the sky in from one of the pictures i used in the hdr. i did this because originally the hdr had streaky clouds.

also thats weird you guys mention the saturation, i never even touched it

You might not have touched it specifically, but your first photo is comically over-saturated, must be a result of the sloppy HDR-ification.

I was just about to post and ask if this was and HDR. I dont mind the saturation, i think the first pic came out very well.

thanks for the compliment OwMamaHateful, in hindsight i could have killed the saturation a bit, or even brought the red channel down slightly

thanks again!
