PLEASE NOTE: The dinner at Abbey's is at 9PM Saturday, July 22. Our time in the prison begins at midnight, ending at 6AM Sunday morning.

Plotted by the attendees of the Nashville Waltz 'n 'Splore 2006, this gathering will feature a day of exploring capped with an overnight stay at the Moundsville State Penitentiary in Moundsville, WV.

This event is unfortunately limited to attendees 18 and older. The prison does not allow anyone under 18 to participate.

Please watch this listing for updates as the Spook 'n 'Splore approaches.

For those coming from the South: Oherian will be happy to coordinate a day of exploring on the way to Moundsville, meeting at Huntington and proceeding through areas of WV and OH. Please let him know you're interested. This may include sites such as the Keith-Albee, the Frederick Hotel, New Boston Coke, Middleport Middle School, Lakin Industrial School, the TNT area in Pt. Pleasant (the place where the Mothman was first sighted), and others, all depending on time, availability, and size of group. We will meet at 12:00 PM on Saturday, July 22, at the abandoned Ames Store just south of Huntington off of Exit 8 of I-64. Please PM Oherian as soon as possible to indicate your interest in meeting for this part of the event.

For those coming from the North and East: Seicer will be coordinating a meet at Moundsville during the day Saturday. At noon, those who wish to explore the Toronto, Ohio power plant will meet at the McDonald's off of the first Toronto exit heading northbound on Ohio State Highway 7. Here is a map - it is along Franklin Street. You may wish to contact Seicer on Abandoned Online for more information.

We will have a general meet-up of all attendees at Abbey's Restaurant and Lounge in Wheeling, WV, at 9 PM. Every attendee is welcome to come, but not required to be there. Please PM Oherian to reserve a space by July 1. He will contact the restaurant to tell them a horde of hungry 'splorers will be descending upon them that evening. Abbey's serves American cuisine, and entrees typically cost $8-12. A map indicating Abbey's can be found here.

A review of Abbey's: "Wheeling - Skip the casino, and go DIRECTLY to Abbey's restaurant and lounge on Wheeling Island! If you're ever driving I-70 this is a strong, strong recommendation. Reasonably priced, super-friendly, and they even cut their own meat and age their own steaks. It might not be Mortons or Ruth's Chris, but well worth a visit. Their ribs are not the Western or St. Louis style, but rather slow-cooked with lots of Rosemary."

If you are unable to meet for dinner, you may also join the group at the prison at 11:45.
