11/15/2008 - Hotels are raising their prices due to the Presidential Inauguration (Richmond is less than 2 hours from DC). I recommend getting your reservation now. I also recommend looking at motels. There are actually some nice ones available and they are much cheaper.
uLiveAndYouBurn will be driving back from Indianapolis when he goes to the Mid-Atlantic Meet, and he is more than willing to give rides. He can seat 4 additional people in his car. He will be driving from Indy to Cincinatti to Charleston WV to Roanoke and then to Richmond. Also, this is only a one way trip so anybody who got down there with him would need to arrange a ride back.
We will be meeting at the food court in Willowlawn Mall (1601 Willow Lawn Drive, Richmond, Va), near Chic-Fil-A, at 12:00pm(noon) on Friday, January 2nd. Since some people will not be able to make it by noon, we can meet again at 6:00pm, at a restaurant to be determined later. I suggest that everyone should start exchanging cell numbers so that you can stay in contact ( I will probably borrow a phone for the meet, so I'll have the number later).
*Forewarning - Any vandalism, tagging, graffiti, drama, etc, will get you left behind in an abandonment and/or dropped off at a police station.*
LAST MINUTE CHECK
1) Do you have your lodging set up? I hope so, because if you arrive with no place to stay, your gonna' be screwed.
2) Make absolutely sure that you have enough money ($) to get here, stay the weekend, and get home. Nobody can afford to loan you the money! Not in todays economy! Not to mention that it is your responsibility.
3) Bring appropriate clothing. I am posting the weather forecasts every day. Make sure to keep yourself warm and dry.
4) Check the weather for the areas you will be traveling through. The last thing you want is to be stuck somewhere due to inclement weather.
5) Check your vehicles. You don't want to be stranded on the highway in the middle of nowhere! Make sure your vehicle is ready for the trip.
6) Exchange phone numbers. You should have at least two other attendees that you can contact.
7) If you are on any medications, don't forget to bring them with you.
8) Stock up on your exploring supplies. Batteries, film, flashlights, etc.
9) Leave all drama at home. Everyone wants to have fun, so no crapola!

ps - I never imagined that so many people would be attending! This is fantastic!! I ask you to be patient tho. This will probably provide for some confusion. I will do my best to get everything sorted out.
