Paris Catacombs

The middle of Rue Sarette is a very complex series of passages, pillars and piles of rocks. I found that this area was hard to photograph or film.

One of two original signs indicating Rue Sarette. There are a large number of these signs posted along the tunnels beneath Paris.

One of my better pictures of Rue Sarette. There was generally the central pathway, the support pillars and these piles of rocks that sloped up from the pathway to the ceiling.

In Rue Sarette there is a small alcove with seats and a rock table. On the way out after my first trip into the Catacombs we met up with one of the more experienced explorers in the Catacombs. He was a good friend of Stonga. We stopped to chat for a while.
