This is what a lot of the steam tunnels under Union are like -- long stretches of concrete tunnel following very, very hot pipes. I don't think I've ever been anywhere that was so stifling. Occasionally we passed ventilation shafts from the road and the warm, mid-day summer air blowing down them felt really cold and refreshing.
