Upon going to Lake Elsinore on an all day trip to explore, right away we found this home on a hill that overlooked the whole city. Based on the graffiti, broken windows and boarded doors, we figured the place was empty and decided to make the trek up the hill to check it out. We parked on the side of the road, and I was worried a cop would see it, give me a ticket for something or wait until we got back to give us a fine for trespassing. Nah. It took us about half an hour to climb the hill from the right side, but it was worth it. The house is one story with many rooms. The living room (that's what we're guessing) had two fireplaces and a gorgeous view. The patio stuck out of the house and was sturdy enough to stand on. It was weird and funny to look down at the cars on the freeway, it felt as though we were trapped in time and looking out at a different world. After exploring the main house, we treked up another hill to the bathhouse. The pool, what must have been beautiful at one point, is now filled with dirt and the wooden diving board still stood in place. There were many bees and beehives in the area, we explored without getting too close to the nests. The day was brutally hot, but the house is absolutely stunning, and it must have been quite the beauty in its hay day. It's a shame that so many people have tagged the place over the years, but it's still a gorgeous place inside and out. Check it out if you're in the area.
