BeerBunny and I were in this house a couple of years ago, that basement "leak" was the craziest thing I have ever seen! the amount of water down there was unbelievable.... at least 4 feet deep, basically came up to the top of the stairs leading into the basement. We were there in the winter and it actually looked like you could skate on the surface.
If i remember correctly there was also a TON of animal feces in the upstairs rooms.... brutal smell....we didn't stay long.
