Trip Report

I had walked past the outer perimeter of this area previously and decided to came back one fine day to climb a small hill where brick shells of some homes remained. Not much I might have first thought. Walking my way down the hill I came up to what I first assumed was presently inhabited buildings.

When I looked over the small makeshift brick wall I could see this home was (potentially empty? - In China what you assume is abandoned on the outside is actually not. How families survive the winter is beyond me.) So I clambered over the little brick wall and spent the next few hours wondering around rooms on different levels and varying sizes.
Maybe once a working class family tennant type buildings. Dozens of rooms and a sepearte area for the kitchens and toilets. In the middle was an open coutyard. Nearing the end of going through the rooms I heard voices of people coming from an area that I was sure was blocked off but I had seen was the original main entrance to the complex. After hiding out and trying to determine if there was a search party attempting to flush out the foreigner, the sound of them dissapeared.
From then I decided to backtrack to my original entry point but as a got to the spot, who should I find with torches a Father reparing the small brick wall I had entered over (I didn't destroy it so maybe he was adding more height to the wall). With my (fake) lost look on my face his son led me out down a different set of doors and rooms (the only area I had yet to visit) which surprisingly was the living quarters of the 3 family members in this one small room. The mother looked like she was seeing a ghost as I walked past her and out the door to continue my exploring from outside the walls of the buildings.
