The blacksmith shop used to be a shitbox. At least that was my first impression of the place. I would always see this boarded up broken down building whenever I would go to nursery school at the church next door to it. Then one day walking through the farmers market I see a display

The milton historical society had managed to get a hold of that little shitbox I had seen so many times and I quickly found out that it was a blacksmith shop, the first one in Milton for that matter. The shop I found out was operated by the same family from 1865 when it was opened until 1970, that's 105 years! That was impressive in my mind, I donated a small $10.00 to their efforts. Well they did it, they restored the place.

Even though I didn't get in today, I will return and get some interior shots in March when they open again.
