Storage Building

I was trying to hook up with CN for another trip to the Storage building but I'm so impatient and couldn't make contact so I hit it solo again. I parked out front, put 75 cents in the meter and headed in. I really wanted to find the old underground train tracks but decided to head up to check out the upper floors first. THere's pigeon crap a foot thick in some places and the lower floors were cool but it got more interesting the further up I went. One floor's full of pallets and stuff, one has plastic eggs all over the floor, one's full of cash registers and plates and stuff....A plethera o' crap to look at. There are 4 or 5 elevators and several sets of stairs. I got more comfortable knowing that I would be about impossible to find, should the authorities show up so I headed to the roof. Stepping out, I was right next to a big office, exposed to a wall of window watching office workers, or so I suposed, so I played like I was suposed to be there and took 10 shots for the panorama. There's definitely something to be said for hiding in plain sight.
I headed back down to see if I could get through the basement door I wasn't able to open on the first trip but it turned out to be unnecessary as at least two of the small staircases lead all the way down. It's pretty dank down there and pitch black. Only a hundred feet or so of the tracks are open due to years of street caontruction, etc. but it was still cool. When I came out, some guy who's pickup was parked right at the entry point was sitting in his truck with the A/C on reading the paper. I didn't want to draw attention to the access point so I sat hidden on the dock for forty minutes until his lunch hour was over and he finally left. I was worried about the parking meter running out and saw the meter readers on the next street but made it out with 16 minutes to spare. There's still plenty of exploring left to do so I'll definitely be back.
The saga continues...
