Resurrection

The first time I visited this building was in 1993. I was with my two cousins and our girlfriends. The first set of photos was taken on two different visits. Entry was gained through the open door on the bottom right of the building as seen in the rear shot. Serious old mansion; like you read about. The furniture was covered with tarps. The walls of the library were lined with glass front barristers with books neatly stacked within. Part of the building had been converted to classroms, and had desks and chalkboards. The rest of the house was as it was for years. We were able to access the entire building, and actually turned on the electricity at the circuit board. The picture looking out from the third floor was taken from the attic overlooking the courtyard.

This was one of my seminal urban explorations. Too bad I had other things on my mind than just my camera...

I made several visits back, but no pictures remain... In 1999 I returned to find the entire main building gutted by fire. All that remained was the exterior brick walls. Even the out buildings were gone. I was very dissapointed...

I returned in the summer of 2004 and found the building was completely restored. Very cool ressurection. It appears to be some kind of common area for an exclusive gated condo community.
