Lane Robbins II

I don't know where Lane Robbins I is - the owners did own another camp, but it was called Hiltop - I should ask sometime! This was a nostalgic trip for me - I've been before, but never with a camera. I went to camp here for 11 years, from 6 years old to 17 - spending a total of about 54 weeks here throughout my summer - so needless to say, I have a lot of memories. I was disapointed at first when we arrived - the cabins had all been remodeled, painted, and they had real doors (we had screens if we were lucky) with locks. There were even mini-blinds in the windows - a little much for camp?? As we looked around though I saw a lot that wasn't fixed up, the same old red color, much more salient for my fading memory. The camp is on 2 sides of the street, with a tunnel in between. When we were done on the cabin side, we drove and parked right in the owners parking lot. We had seen 80 % and figured we could be obvious now. I spoke to the owner who said they would be reopening. She was very nice, very happy to meet me I think. I told her what an awesome place it had been, and gave her my best wishes. She said I was welcome to walk around. This (being the other side of the road) is where the lake is, and the pool, fields, etc. Overall it was fun - I think it would be of interest to other UERs. There is so much great stuff out there about Jersey, but nothing about this place. This is your last chance to see it - there are lots of old building, places to explore, signed walls, etc. Go at night and freak yourself out telling ghost stories.
