How is squatting supposed to help? Do they think that the building's owners will be like "Oh! Why did I close that building when poor people could live there? How silly of me!" I'd watch out if I saw that logo on the wall...a very loud talk-your-ear-off type squatter would be near.

it's an activist strategy that, hopefully, brings attention to the fact that an area features a lot of "empty" buildings while there is many homeless people in said area. Sometimes it works, particularily when it happens with civic elections on the horizon. But most of the time it gets swept under the rug like so many "social" issues.

Apparently the squatting didn't accomplish much.
