How do you know a cctv is fake? (other than that no police shows up)

In england, that nasty style of camera is always fake. I could find you laods of sites that have fake cameras exactly like it. Plus, the lens is plastic, and has a seam down the middle. Any way, they have removed it now.

Normally there is a 'junction box' connected to the camera with two D cells in it - that powers a small flashing LED on the camera body.
Pathetic.

They were selling camera's just like that in Morrisons or Tesco's (can't remember) for your home at the bargain price of £9.99 the other week there. Thing is, everybody knows they look fake so what's the point?

I know, they all look the same! However, some factory Gnome somewhere has put a real camera into one of those nasty boxes! The lens gives it away though. The fake one is just shiney plastic, but the real one is glass, so you can see deep into the lens. But from a distance, they look like the fake ones.
