I went in 1974, the place was really beautiful.
This is a picture of the budget rooms where I stayed. Myself and two friends went right after graduation. These rooms were 35$ a night. As I remember they were across the street and up a hill or something. That also included breakfast and dinner.
We pulled the whole trip off for 500$
We were all under 21 but drank like fish and had the best time. It was when this resort was just beginning to become outdated. It had a kinda early 60's-late50's feel about it.

They appeared rather "budget" style - compared with the over the top look of the main building. Thanks for the story, always fun to hear!!

The whole area feels outdated, I guess. I wouldn't know, personally, but there's been some coverage on the news about how the Poconos in general are struggling to change their image and escape from the whole honeymooner's retreat kind of image they struggled for however many decades to create. More power to them. Honeymoons, or not, I never understood why anyone would want to go there.

Wow these are great. I stayed here the first time I went to Mt Airy back in 1985-86. Lol my grandfather took the whole family and unfortunately it was during a blizzard and I'll never forget my dad falling down the hill walking to the main building!
