Description
A dipole antenna mounted to a rotator. This is actually quite a nice setup for shortware and ham radio operations.

  these are awesome for radio-heads. and stealthy, most ham guys have a telltale 30' mast in thier yards

  That's more of a TV antenna than anything for ham radio. It would work for receiving (like with that shortwave set, but it's actually off frequency for shortwave stuff) but would need some work for transmitting.

  That's an amplified TV antenna from Radio Shack. I had one of those in the early 80s. It didn't work very well.

  Wide band amplifers amplify all the noise as well. You get the same crappy signals as before, just at a higher strenth
