  It doesnt look like any belts wrapped around this awesome piece of woodwork. If you look at the last picture you can see two huge wooden support beams where i think a shaft that this drum rode on. Instead of belts going from the smooth rubber tires, I think the rubber tires directly turned the massive barrel. God I'm mad i didnt get to see this place!

  Those two support beams are the two vertical ones on the right side of the last picture where it looks like some steel or iron was attached to that would hold this drum in place.
