  The one in the CCM "Centre de Controle du Métro" is very similar, Budget have now been accepted byt the govenrment to update the CCM panels and 'computers'

  the metro is operated on old mainframe. it does the job. You would be surprised at how many companies still use em, Canadian Tire in toronto still use IBM 4381 and you can see that in the stores like the inventory terminals at the auto counter they are 3151 and 3471 terminals

You're right about the mainframes... I don't think they're going away anytime soon. Mainframe hardware and operating systems were built to a different standard than you'll find in microcomputers. In many mainframe installations it is not unusual for an operator to have experienced only one or two IPLs (initial program loads) in their entire career. This stuff is made to stay up.

  example my father, he operated for 30 years, at petro fina it was credit card billing, at the other place it was production, when they pulled the mainfraim he was of course laid off,
