I read that for some reason though the Iraq has the same power system as the UK - 230/40v 50Hz with identical plugs ?

Could be british in other parts of the town. For some reason though the brits brought tons of adaptors. I also was in all the diplomatic and high class buildings and all the power was being fed by the US at the time.

If you look closely at the road patterns though it looks like they were designed for the British way of driving.
Look closely at the turn-off and the tire tracks made by (I'm assuming.) American troops.
Either that or the picture is mirrored.

yeah, we built it trying to HELP his country. sounds an AWFUL lot like us rebuilding stuff over there now. of course CNN leaves all of THAT out.

lol. See those tents out behind the palace on the far right of the picture? That's where I was living my first few months in country. And I spent my 21st birthday HAMMERED on the roof of that palace.
