I worked on the railroad in BC. First time I went on a bridge like this I thought I was going to pass out, shit my pants, and die. A year later I was sitting on the edge of the ties with my legs over the edge eating lunch like I was sitting on a rock on the ground. And, yea, making wisecracks about the newbies with that look in their eyes and that wobble in their legs just trying to walk on to the damn thing.

Looks as if the bridge is "out" in the section just after the "foam was here". Why is that?

Actually, its not that bad until you get about 3/4 of the way towards the far end - where some kids set up a bonfire on the bridge and burned through several of the railroad ties.

Its really freaky to cross it from there - you have to hop down onto the steel supports of the bridge and walk across 4' of open air to get to the other side...without handrails/guardrails.

Freaky. But well worth the trip.
