A swift kick to the nuts from each and every Jazz Fest tourist to the greedy douche who figured it was profitable to demolish the Spectrum long before he was ready to build. What an asshole.

The spectrum could have been open this year for tourists and spectators of all of Montreal's major events, but Noooooo, ofcourse not, why should they. What else can they tear down next. Oh, let's see.. St-Laurent street from Ste-Catherine to Rene-Levesque? Sure what the heck, it's only part of Montreal history, and represents what "The Main" really is... Oh well, sorry, still upset about SIDEV and their tactics.

Mystic, it's great to be upset but it's even better to be proactive. Have you attended any of the public consultation on the redevelopment of St. Laurent? Have you wrote to your municipal councillor about it, telling him/her you oppose the redev' and asking them to vote against it at municipal council? Have you sent a memoir to the members of the Office de consultations publiques? It's one thing to be upset but it's a lot more important to be present and oppose municipal craziness before other buildings disappear. Cause being upset after the fact is pointless really.

This is very true. I've signed petitions for issues such as the St-Laurent redev project and the Spectrum, but you're right, it's easy to ignore a signed petition, but not so easy when you're in their face with a fighting spirit.

and mystic dont forget, your not a montreal voter so you are like me, they really dont care about us

Bah they don't care but you do count when you attend an OCPM session or any other event actually... No need to be Montrealer to attend the OCPM public sessions or any public demonstrations.

Say it loud, because there is the danger we could become as totally screwed as the people down south. Harper is our version of GW Bush, and the one thing politicians love is that it is easy to neutralize intelligent opposition because that requires a bit of actual brain work on the part of the masses who would much rather veg out in front of the tube. They don't care because they have no reason to believe that anyone has the energy to defeat them.
